Probably the most scenic part of the Delaware River, this route goes from Narrowsburg south to Matamoras. The river flows through a canyon of forest mountains where waterfalls cascade from in wet weather. The river is quite popular in this section, as it is also popular with anglers. There are four Class II rapids and more than twenty Class I. Along this section of the river is the oldest suspension bridge in the country completed in 1849, the Roebling Bridge, named after its engineer, John Roebling.
